I have lost too many friends in the line of duty. It stings like nothing else could every time I stand at their funerals, I am the North Star and I have Your Back was created in their honor, for each and every one of them. For they did more good for humanity in their short time on earth than most do in a lifetime. The setting for this work is the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC. Too many were friends, and then even the officers I buried but never knew were friends joined by a common bond, doing for society a job most could not do.
